An Education customer of SSO Easy had limited time to enable Single Sign On capability for their user population of Gmail users.  The school district had previously implemented Google Apps Education Edition, and was faced with a very aggressive timeframe for implementing SAML 2.0 based SSO function.

The school district client had no prior SAML experience, and no programming resources available.

With SSO Easy’s assistance, the EasyConnect software product solution was successfully installed and migrated into production in about four hours.

A recent SSO Easy client, in a representative case study, successfully implemented SAML 2.0 based Single Sign On (SSO) function for 15,000 GMail users.

The challenge that this Google Apps customer faced was that they wanted to provide a secure environment for GMail, while also providing an easy to use software solution that enabled convenient user access to their GMail accounts.

The project was completed successfully in about a day and a half.

Google has created tremendous demand for Google Apps, and for GMail, the email component of Google Apps.

In order for the potential benefits of Google Apps and GMail to be realized, the integrated email system must be secure and easily accessible by users.  Single Sign On, or SSO, is the means by which this secure and convenient access is provided to users.

In order for organizations to provide Single Sign On capability for their GMail users, the SAML 2.0 protocol must be supported by the organization through the implementation of a SAML 2.0 compliant product solution.
